This beech veneer table top was damaged by wine spills that sat on the table and stained the finish. The table also had a couple of deep gouges which prevented a simple sand and re-finish. After discussing with the owner, the decision was made to replace the veneer with a rift-sawn American beech veneer instead of the plain-sawn beech veneer the table originally had. Rift-sawn wood results in a beautiful straight grain pattern, giving the table a new look. The table was finished with 3 coats of Rubio Monocoat Hardwax Oil. The diameter of this table top is approximately 1150mm.
